This product has been developed in order to reproduce music as pure and lifelike as possible.
The P2 is a high quality phono-preamplifier using transistor technology. We could have gone for our famous hybrid construction, but for various reasons we decided on this solution. Nevertheless we have been able to apply the Audio Exklusiv typical sound even to our first full transistor unit.
The chassis and board mounting have being optimised mechanically using our special techniques.

For the MC input we use a cascaded eightfold FET input stage in order to reach an optimal noise level as well as wideband properties. The gain adjustment is done passively. Local voltage regulators ensure best possible and very stable working conditions.

For the MM section we use a FET input stage in order to avoid retroactive effects on MM cartridges. The FET input stage is completey dc-coupled by a twofold servo that allows it to work without coupling capacitors. The RIAA equalisation works independently of gain and the output stage (with the only coupling capacitor), is realised as a true Class A circuit.

The P2 is (including transformers) completely dual mono construction. Each channel works absolutely self-governed and is consequently not influenced by the other. This is of great importance when working with such low level signals. The consequence is the best possible stability and an optimal channel separation. The result is an extremely wide-ranging, airy and well structured sound pattern.

The power supply includes R-C-L-C-LC (inductor, resistor, capacitor) filtering and, unusually, additional capacitor multipliers. 60.000 F per channel in the power supply as well as additional voltage buffering directly in the circuit, with high quality Panasonic FC capacitors are responsible for an ideal noise-free background. In combination with a high quality line filter, most power line interferences can be eliminated and the audio circuit works under the best possible conditions.

All signal switching is realised with gas-filled reed relays. A complex additional control system kills any switching noise.

All components have been determined separately in cooperation with long lasting listening tests. Non-inductive resistors with only lowest tolerances, MKP, mica, oiled-paper capacitors and high quality internal wiring are just a few examples of the final selection of parts.
